Perez: A Line That Shouldn’t Be Crossed
Starbucks Coffee Company has done a lot to market itself in the past couple of years. Plenty of people thought that Starbucks was doing a bad thing by advertising to the general population with commercials, magazine ads, and what I would consider gorilla marketing strategies. Recently Starbucks has crossed a major line, and that lines name is Perez Hilton.
Not only is Perez Hilton really gross looking, but Starbucks has put its Frappuccino bottled beverage all over his blog. I don’t know what they were thinking about when they decided to pay this hideous excuse for a human being money to endorse their product, but I think they should go ahead and “Alt-Ctrl-Del” that crap.
It all started with banners after every single post. The banners were complete tack in my opinion. If you want to advertise something, then do it on the side like everybody else. I thought the design of his blog couldn’t get any worst, but it did with that.
Lately, Perez is featured as the background of the site looking like the scary little man from “The Leprechaun” and drinking a Frappuccino on the go. Nobody wants to see your ugly face while they are trying to read what is going on with Lady Gaga, Lindsay Lohan, and Mel Gibson. Get over it Starbucks. You made a bad move now spread the wealth and advertise on other websites too. No Leprechauns needed.
